The Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership gives you all the key skills and competencies you'll need to become an effective middle manager. A Diploma in Management and Leadership is the benchmark qualification for full CMI membership, taking you another step towards Chartered Manager status.

Description

The Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership is aimed at practising middle managers aspiring to move into a more senior role. The CMI Level 5 Diploma equips you with fundamental management expertise, such as resource management, recruitment and information management.

With a study period of around 18 months and a total qualification time of 370 hours, the CMI Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management is a comprehensive course designed to give you all the skills and knowledge required of a senior manager. Once you have completed this course, you will be eligible to study the CMI Level 6 qualifications in Leadership and Management, or progress onto the CMI Level 7 Award in Strategic Management and Leadership.

Assessment

CMI Level 5 Diploma is designed as the most comprehensive qualification and usually takes around 18 months to complete. 

To achieve the CMI Level 5 Diploma learners will be required to complete eight 3,500 – 4,000 word written assignments that require taught theory to be applied to the organisational context:

  • 502: Principles of Developing, Managing and Leading Individuals and Teams to Achieve Success
  • 509: Managing Stakeholder Relationships
  • 513: Managing Projects to Achieve Results
  • 514: Managing Change
  • 515: Creating and Delivering Operational Plans
  • 520: Managing Finance
  • 525: Using Reflective Practice to Inform Professional and Personal Developmen
